God has been showing me many areas of sin in my relationship with my husband–ways in which I dishonor him and do not give him the respect I should. I’ve been grieved and also thankful that God loves me enough to show me these things. I’ve been asking God to give me wisdom and to change me–I want to obey Him! I want to glorify Him and receive the blessings that come from doing things His way.
I happened across some testimonies from women who had read Created to Be His Help Meet, by Debi Pearl, put into practice the principles in the book and seen the Lord work wonderful things in their marriages. It sounded like just what I needed. My sister-in-law Lydia has the book, so I asked her what she thought of it. She told me that of all the very good books she read before she got married to my brother, this one was the most helpful and convicting and she rereads it frequently to remind herself of her role as his help meet.
Rob ordered a copy for me and I read through it eagerly. At the end of each chapter there are topical Bible studies to complete and I plan to go back through more slowly so I can do those studies. I found the book to be encouraging, convicting, Biblical, thought-provoking, practical. . .an answer to prayer.
I have been married for ten years to a wonderful, godly man. We have had a close relationship, despite my sinful attitudes. God has blessed us and I am thankful. Part of that blessing is the way God gradually cleans out the subtle yet very real sins in my heart. I feel He’s moved that process into high gear lately and I am looking forward to the even greater blessings that will result from responding to His chastening.
I realize the Pearls are a controversial couple, but much of what is said about them is unfounded. I don’t agree with everything they believe, but then that is true of everyone I know, and you probably don’t agree with everything I say either–that’s just the way it is! However, the proof of authenticity is in the fruit and they have a LOT of good fruit. So, I want to recommend this book to you with the hope that you will read it and be blessed.

My sweetheart is home on leave, please pray for us on thursday as we will have a chance to speak to the judge…. can you ask others for prayer on that day cassie? I would be so greatful!!!!
