My mom-in-law recently switched to a new homeowner’s insurance company. [Here in Florida we are having all kinds of insurance problems because of the many hurricanes that have happened in recent history.] The company sent someone out to take pictures of her house, but the photographer never knocked on her door to let her know he was there.
A couple of weeks ago she got a letter saying her insurance policy was being dropped, because she had failed to inform them about her pool with a diving board (I guess the board was the main concern). She got right on the phone to her agent and told her, “I don’t have a pool. All I have is a bird bath, and I haven’t installed a diving board on it yet.” The agent laughed so hard that it was a while before she could finish the conversation.
It turns out that the photographer had gone next door by mistake, but when he realized he had taken pictures of the wrong house, he had deleted the picture with the house number on it! We hope that it will get straightened out pretty soon.
