Christopher had his first tooth pulled today. It was very loose, but his permanent tooth had come up behind it, instead of under it, so it needed some help. He is only 5, and is the first of our children to lose teeth. He is pretty big for his age though, and he has another tooth on its way out as well. We are really proud of him, because he has been seeking to grow in self-control when pain of any kind is involved, and he didn’t scream or resist Rob, even though it did hurt. He was tempted to scream and cry, while anticipating it, but he had self-control, and trusted Rob. It was a moment worth celebrating. We all cheered.
Later. . .Here are the promised pictures. There is a picture of Laura with the dowel in her mouth and the pliers in her hand trying to take her tooth out. We caught her at the table, and I just had to get a picture! Then we put the pliers out of reach! She’s still trying to get her baby teeth in, so we don’t need any of them coming out too early. And of course, there is one of Christopher!
