Father, I need You, today, as everyday. I acknowledge my complete dependance on You. How easily I forget it. Forgive me for my arrogance. I must abide in You, for apart from You I can do nothing.
Oh, but I try! I run ahead–like my son when he runs ahead of me in a crowded parking lot. His eyes see only his desire to get to where we are going. Mine see the dangers, the need to stop and wait, or move over this way or that. He must follow me or be hurt or killed.
Lord, make me an obedient, trusting child, the way I want my son to be. You see both the destination and the best way to get there.
